Becoming a member

11.05

Coming into membership is a two-sided process involving the individual on their spiritual journey and a whole community of faith. It is a process of discernment that involves both the applicant and the wider Quaker community: local Friends, the area meeting and possible contacts with other Quakers in other contexts such as a listed informal group or a university chaplain. It is the outward acknowledgement of an inward growth of commitment or a sense of belonging to the Religious Society of Friends.
