The meaning of membership

Nothing in this section precludes young people under the age of sixteen from applying under the procedure described in 11.04-11.12

Application on behalf of a child

11.15

Parents or those with parental responsibility or guardians who intend to bring up a child in accordance with the religious principles of the Society may apply for acceptance of that child into membership, while he or she is under the age of sixteen. The application, stating this intention, should be in writing and give the full name and date of birth of the child and be signed by both parents or by those with parental responsibility or guardians. Area meetings may, in special circumstances, dispense with the signature of one of the parents.
