11. Membership

The meaning of membership


Nothing in this section precludes young people under the age of sixteen from applying under the procedure described in 11.04-11.12


Application on behalf of a child

11.16

On receipt of the application the area meeting may appoint Friends to visit the parents or those with parental responsibility or guardians before reaching a decision as to admission into membership. The decision of the area meeting is to be conveyed to the parents or those with parental responsibility or guardians in writing. The names of the children so admitted are to be entered on the official register of members with the date of admission and the date of birth, and the appropriate local meeting is also to be informed.
