For the right joining in marriage is the work of the Lord only, and not the priests+IBk- or magistrates+IBkAOw- for it is God+IBk-s ordinance and not man+IBk-s+ADs- and therefore Friends cannot consent that they should join them together: for we marry none+ADs- it is the Lord+IBk-s work, and we are but witnesses.
